Last Sabbath April 30 2016

Sabbath April 30 2016
Divine Worship 11:45am - 12:45pm

Topic: "Heirs and Heirloom"
Speaker: Elder D St. Marie

Scripture
1 Cor 1:10 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (KJV)

Summary: As the earthly monarchy has standards and protocols which must be observed, so our heavenly King has set His standard. As christians, we ought to uphold the banner of Christ wherever we are and in whatever we do. There should be no divisionor exclusivesness within the body of Christ, but a spirit of unity, love and inclusivity with Christ as our Head.
Adventist Youth Meeting 2:30pm - 4:00pm

Topic: Fundamental Belief #22 - Christian Behaviour
Moderator: Sis Sheila

Scripture
Gal 5:1-6 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto
you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever
of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision;
but faith which worketh by love.(KJV)

Summary: 1John 2:15 & 16 - 3 categories of sin: lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
In today's society it may prove impossible to distinguish a chrisian from a non-believer. And yet in John 17:15&16, Christ prays that His followers may be in the world but not of the world.
So what should distinguish a christian from everyone else? Here are a few things we identfied:
- Love for others, not just our family anf friends but also our enemies
- Language and conversation
- Dress
- Diet
- Lifestyle
- Worship
When Christ is working in our lives, even without any decided effort on our part, those around us note our differences. If we think that our church family is watching our every move, the unconverted are inspecting us with even greater scrutiny.
